Droge Kabinetten van de Insulindestraat / Dry Cabinets of the Insulindestraat
A proposal for the inhabitants of the Insulindestraat in Rotterdam. Around twenty drying cabinets are attached to the sunny facade of the houses. People can use the cabinets to conserve their food; vegetables, fruit and herbs. The cabinets show the diversity of the microclimates that excist in this long street with movements of polystyrene balls; they are kept in motion by the circulation of air in the solar chimney. The movements also indicate whether the cabinets are working: the more movement, the dryer the air becomes.
