De Bio-Scoop van Martina Florians en Sasker Scheerder
A constant temperature of 34 °C, and film - the whole day film. The main visitors of the Bio-Scoop were a 4000-member colony of enormeous South-African sugarants, Camponotus Fulvopilosus. Part entomological research, part cinematography, this installation was to solve the big mystery around this relatively unknown species: How do they reproduce? In a night-vision environment the ants are treated to an array of romantic films, shown at their visual frequency, to get them in the mood... Many thanks to Ronald Adams.
